Lady Hawks Overcome by Cincinnati State Surge

LADY HAWKS OVERCOME BY SURGE

Nelsonville, Ohio

Hocking College played host to a red hot Cincinnati State on Wednesday night at the Student Center. Cincinnati State came into the contest having won 5 straight games and 9 of their last 10. 

The Surge were led in scoring by Ashley Moore with 21 points. She was followed in scoring by Ashleigh Gary (20) and Chloe Baird (17) giving the Surge a boost coming off the bench to contribute in a big way. Other scorers for Cincinnati State included Nora Minter (12), Lea Coulter (10), Jacie Dickerson (8), and Tiarna Harfield (7). 

Hocking College was once again led by sophmore guard, Brandy Merritt (Barberton/Macedonia/Edinboro) with 16 points. Kylie Jettinghoff followed her in scoring with 14 points to round out Hocking's scorers in double figures. The trio of Macy McCollister (7), Alison Bray (6), and Jena Cozad (3) combined for Hocking's remaining 16 points. 

The Lady Hawks will return to action this weekend as they travel to Edison State on Saturday and Owens Community College on Sunday. Saturday's tip off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and Sunday's game will tip at 3 p.m.
