The Hocking College men's basketball team rolled to its ninth straight win and maintained hold of first place in the OCCAC as the Hawks blew past Edison State 94-76 at the Student Center on Wednesday night.
Hocking improves to 16-5 on the season, and 9-1 in in league play as the Hawks remain tied with Lakeland for the top spot in the OCCAC. The victory also gave Hocking a season sweep of the rival Chargers.
Sophomore forward Dennis Osoro scored a game-high 21 points to pace the Hawks, who placed four players in double figures. Fellow sophomore and reigning OCCAC Player of the Week Allen Lattimore added 19 points, while freshman Treshawn Cody notched his 10th straight double figure effort with 17. Sophomore guard Anthony Miller chipped in 10 points as the Hawks raced to a 50-32 lead and never looked back.
The Hawks connected on 10 3-pointers, led by three from Lattimore and two apiece from Miller and sophomore Travis Bullock. Hocking also hit 12 of 16 from the free throw line as the Hawks continued to play at a high level. The Hawks have not lost since December 17, when they came up short 82-79 to then No. 1-ranked Parkland College.
Hocking shoots for its 10th straight win on Saturday when the Hawks host OCCAC foe Owens CC at the Student Center. Tip off is set for 1:00pm ET.
