HAWKS FALL TO CHARGERS

Piqua, Ohio

 

Hocking College traveled to Piqua, Ohio to take on the Chargers of Edison State on Saturday in an OCCAC matchup. The Chargers jumped out to and early lead and controlled the pace of the game en route to a 101-74 victory. 

Edison State shared the ball well and had a very balanced offensive attack with 6 players scoring in double figures. The Chargers were led by Zach Ledbetter with 18 points on 5-10 shooting from behind the arc. He was followed in scoring by Romello Yaqub with 17, Dae'Shawn Jackson added 16, Nick Thompson tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards, Hadith Tiggs added 14 and 6 assists, and Christopher Landrum charted 13 points and 6 assists of his own. 

Hocking College was led by D'Andre Clay with 18 points on 5-12 shooting from the field and 5-6 from the charity stripe. D'Andre was followed in scoring by Bryce Mooring with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists and Keiron Morning came in off the bench to poured in 11 points. Devonte Lash notched 9 points, Darnei Hairston added 6, Raysean Jones had 5, Wyatt Harris added 4, Joe Clay had 3 and Bilgehan Korkmaz and Anthony Reid both scored 2 points a piece in the contest. 

With the loss the Hawks fall to 9-18 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday night when they play host to Sinclair Community College in the last home game of the season. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game at the Student Center.
