Hawks Fall to Surge

HAWKS FALL TO SURGE

Nelsonville, Ohio

 

The Hawks played host to OCCAC foe Cincinnati State on Wednesday night in the Multiplex. The Surge entered the game having won 14 of their last 15 games. 

The Hawks scored first on a free throw by Raysean Jones and held an early 7-6 lead but the Surge would quickly regain the lead and never relinquish it walking away with a 115-55 victory. 

The Surge were led in scoring by Anthony Coleman with 30 points, on 11-15 shooting from the field. Coleman was followed in scoring by a Dante Battle (18), Lindsay Hunter (18), Isaiah Bostic (13), Desmond Crosby (11), Tawone Keith (8), Anthony Grover (5), Isaiah Jones (3), Qawi Rucker (2), and Marlon Kardrostami rounded out the scoring for Cincinnati State with a lone free throw.

The Hawks were once again led in scoring by sophmore guard Devonte Lash with 13 points, 6 of which came from the charity stripe. Lash was followed in scoring by Bryce Mooring (12), D'Andre Clay (9), Raysean Jones (8), Anthony Reid (6), Darnei Hairston (3), and Bilgehan Korkmaz (2). 

The Hawks return to action this weekend with two games on the road. Saturday the will travel to Edison State to take on the Chargers at 3 p.m. before traveling to the University of Rio Grande to take on the Red Storm's JV squad on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.
