Commodores Volleyball Even Conference Record; Drop Hocking 3-2

October 2, 2021 - - The Commodore volleyball team walked away with a hard fought 3-2 victory against Hocking College Saturday afternoon. With the win, Lorain County Community College improves to 5-8 on the season and 3-3 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC). 

The Commodores were in complete control of the match through the first two sets, hitting over .500 to take a 2-0 lead.  But Hocking fought back to force a fifth set. The Commodores walked away with 16-14 to win the match and even their conference record.

Venecia Billings (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) led the Commodores in kills with 14.  Kamie Reeser (Amherst, Ohio/Elyria HS) also had double-digit kills with 12. Jordan Benware (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake HS) had 49 assists and Emy Gomes (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake HS) had 17 digs for LCCC.

LCCC will travel to Terra State Community College for another OCCAC match up with the Titans.  Terra State won in three sets against LCCC on September 8.
