Hawks Women's Basketball Post Season Honors

Hawks Women's Basketball Post Season Honors

As the women's basketball team wrapped up their regular seasons, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference named two Hocking College student-athletes recipients of postseason awards for the 2024-25 season.

The OCCAC selected Trinity Bellard, of Middletown, OH, as All-OCCAC Second Team. Bellard, a 5-foot-8-inch sophomore forward, averaged 10.8 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game in conference action.

"This season was a grind for Trinity. She laid it all on the line physically. We are all proud of this accomplishment for her", said Head Women's Basketball Coach Andrew Brown.

The OCCAC named sophomore Emily Blevins as Defensive Player of the Year. Blevins was also the Defensive Player of the Year for the 23-24 season. The 5-foot-7-inch guard from Logan, OH, averaged 7.3 points per game, along with 8.1 rebounds per game.  "Emily took the challenge every night to be our defensive stopper. Her individual effort was a big part of our team being the top defensive team in our league and one of the best in all of NJCAA D2. This is very well deserved", Brown said of Blevins.

For the teams efforts Andrew Brown was named OCCAC Coach of the Year.

The Hawks ended the season 20-9 overall and 12-2 in the OCCAC, finishing as OCCAC Runner-Up for the first time in program history, setting a record for wins a season, and  appearing in the Great Lakes District B semifinals.
