Softball welcomes Aaron O'Brien to coaching staff

Hocking College Head Softball Coach Rick Walker is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron O'Brien as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the Hawks Softball Program. 

 

Aaron began his coaching journey as a volunteer coach in the Perry Girls Fastpitch Youth League, where he developed a passion for coaching . He then served as the head coach for the Starz 03/ 04 teams from 2016 to 2023. Under his leadership, the Starz teams achieved success, including a top 5 finish at the Nationals in Chattanooga, TN, along with two top 10 finishes at the Eastern Nationals in Ocean City, MD, and another at the USSSA Nationals in Gulf Shores, AL.

 

In 2018, Aaron joined Uncle Charlie’s Tournament staff as the recruiting coordinator, where he facilitated communication between teams and college coaches to organize camps and showcase events. The following year, he took on the role of Vice President of the Starz Softball Organization, overseeing all aspects of recruiting and enhancing the organization’s visibility.

 

Currently, Aaron is one of the three owners of Uncle Charlie’s Tournaments and sits on the board of the Lady Rebels Organization as the head of Player Development.
