Hocking College Welcomes Steve Castle as New Head Bowling Coach
Hocking College is proud to announce the appointment of Steve Castle as the new Head Coach for both the Men's and Women's Bowling Teams, set to begin competition in the 2026–27 season. With over three decades of experience in the sport and a legacy of leadership, Coach Castle brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and competitive spirit to the Hawks bowling program.
A lifelong resident of Logan, Ohio, Steve has been a cornerstone of the local bowling community. Since 2008, he has served as the Bowling Coach at Logan High School, where he guided student-athletes to multiple championship appearances. His coaching philosophy centers on individualized development, strategic gameplay, and fostering sportsmanship—values that align perfectly with Hocking College's mission to empower student-athletes both on and off the lanes.
Steve's resume includes:
- 6-time State Championship Finals appearances
- Multiple Conference Titles, including First Capital Conference (2014–2018) and South Central Ohio Conference (2018–2020)
- PBA Member (1992–1995)
- 37 years of participation in the USBC Open Championships
In addition to his coaching career, Steve has played a vital role in maintaining and supporting the operations of Scenic Lanes in Logan, helping ensure the facility remains a welcoming and reliable space for bowlers of all ages.
