The Hocking College women's basketball team saw their four-game winning streak come to a halt on Saturday as the Hawks lost 74-54 at Lakeland Community College in a key OCCAC game. With the loss, the Hawks are now 11-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play.

Hocking is one game out of a Region Tournament spot with just one game remaining as the Hawks chase Lakeland, Cuyahoga, and Edison State.

The Hawks were tied 14-14 after the first quarter, but then watched Lakeland outscore them 25-5 in the second quarter to take a 39-19 lead into halftime. The host Lakers put the game away by winning the third quarter 23-11.

Freshman guard Cayleigh Dupler led the Hawks with 15 points, while freshman guard Emily Blevins added 11 and sophomore guard Dasani Morrow chipped in 10. Freshman forward Trinity Bellard added nine as the Hawks top two scorers, Brie Gingras and Tayen Brown, were held without a basket and had a combined two points.

Hocking ends the regular season on Wednesday, February 28 with a OCCAC road game at Terra State. Tipoff time is at 5:30pm ET.
