Hawks receiving votes in latest D2 poll

The Hocking College men's basketball team, which came seconds away from wrapping up the OCCAC regular season championship this past weekend, received votes in this week's NJCAA Division II Top 20 poll released today.

The Hawks, who are 19-6 overall and tied for first in the OCCAC with No. 15 Lakeland Community College at 12-2, had their 12 game winning streak snapped in a 80-79 loss at Lakeland on Saturday. Five of the six losses for Hocking are to Top 20 teams.

Hocking was ranked in the NJCAA Preseason poll, and then again the following week in November, before falling out after a double overtime loss at then No. 16 Mott Community College.

The Hawks finish regular season play this week with two road games; Wednesday at Terra State and Saturday at Bryant & Stratton. Hocking is still fighting for a conference totle and a possible No. 1 seed in next week's Great Lakes Region 1`2 Tournament in Flint, MI.
