Hawks blow out Commodores 109-74, win streak at 12

The Hocking College Men's basketball team sent their eight second year players out on a high note as the Hawks blew out Lorain County Community College 109-74 on Sophomore Night at the Student Center on Wednesday to remain alone in first place in the OCCAC.

Hocking won its 12th straight game to improve to 19-5, and 12-1 in conference play to maintain its one game lead over second place Lakeland (11-2), who the Hawks play on Saturday. With the victory, the Hawks clinched a spot in the Great Lakes Region 12 Tournament March 5-10 at Mott Community College in Flint, MI.

Leading by only a point at 45-44, the Hawks imposed their dominance on Lorain, outscoring the Commodores 64-30 in the second half.  It was the eight time this season Hocking has topped the 100-point mark, and second straight against Lorain.

Seven players scored in double figures for the Hawks, led by freshman Treshawn Cody, who scored 20, his 13th straight double digit game. Sophomores Dennis Osoro and Allen Lattimore each scored 12 points, as did freshman Sohn McGee. Sophomore Anthony Millner and freshman Marvin Good added 11 points apiece, while sophomore Jaden Woods chipped in 10.

The Hawks end the regular season with the first of three straight road games, starting this Saturday at No. 17 nationally ranked Lakeland. Hocking won the first meeting at home against the Lakers on January 29 by 20 points.
