Hocking College Appoints Kylee Bako as New Head Softball Coach

Nelsonville, OH — August 22, 2025 — Hocking College is excited to announce the hiring of Kylee Bako as the new Head Coach of the Women's Softball Team. A seasoned coach and former collegiate athlete, Bako brings a dynamic blend of experience, leadership, and passion to the Hawks program.

Bako played four years of collegiate softball at Ohio Christian University, where she also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and Psychology with a 3.7 GPA. Her time as a student-athlete laid the foundation for her coaching philosophy, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and academic excellence.

Since 2021, Bako has served as Head Coach for Ohio MOJO, where she has led efforts in practice planning, recruiting, budgeting, and organizing camps and clinics. She also currently serves as Assistant Coach for Jackson Varsity Softball, contributing to player development and off-season training.

In addition to her coaching roles, Bako has held multiple positions at Ohio Christian University, including Teaching Assistant, Department Secretary, and Educational Tutor, where she supported students academically and administratively.

Bako is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) through Ohio University’s online graduate program, further demonstrating her commitment to youth development and mental health advocacy.

Kylee Bako will begin her role immediately, preparing the team for the upcoming season and continuing to build a culture of excellence both on and off the field.
