Hocking College Men’s Golf Team Opens Fall Season with a Victory

On Wednesday, August 27, the Hocking College Men’s Golf Team kicked off their fall season with a strong showing against Trine University’s JV squad and host Marian College. The match was held at Swan Lake Resort’s Black Course—one of the most demanding layouts in collegiate golf and home to the NJCAA DII National Championship. Stretching 7,119 yards, the course tested every aspect of the players' game.

Freshman Ian Tricker led the Hawks with an impressive round of 76, the second-best score of the tournament. His performance helped secure a narrow one-shot win over Marian College, with Trine finishing third. Fellow freshman Tanner Wood followed closely with a 78, the third-best score of the day. Rounding out the team’s counting scores were freshman Mark Behrend and sophomore captain Landen Bray, each carding an 84.

Hoyt Munro (90) and Issac Ewersen (93) also contributed to the team’s effort. Given the difficulty of the course, the Hawks’ team score of 322 marks a promising start to the season.
