Jared Grove was named the second head baseball coach on May 22, 2024.
The 2025 season was Grove's first at Hocking. He guided the Hawks to a successful first year while garnering a bid to the NJCAA Region 12 tournament for the first time in program history. Hocking posted a 28-28 overall record and a 15-11 mark in conference play, surpassing the most single-season wins at Hocking by 21. Hocking finished second in the OCCAC and received one All-Region (Ronnie Rowley) and four All-OCCAC awards (Rowley, Kai Canson, Jake Winland, Jonathon Woedl).
Grove comes to Hocking from Penn College of Technology in Williamsport, PA where he was the assistant baseball coach in charge of hitting and outfielders from 2021 through the 2024 season. During his time at Penn College, Grove coached the team to 70 wins and coached 14 United East All Conference players and 3 All Region players.
Prior to Penn College, Grove spent four years as the assistant baseball coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). During his time at IUP, he assisted in the development of T.J. Adams, who was selected in the 27th round (810 overall) by the Philadelphia Phillies.
His coaching career began in 2016, when he spent the summer serving as an assistant coach with the Butler BlueSox of the Prospect Summer Collegiate League.
Grove played collegiately at California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U), where he was a two year starter as an outfielder. He graduated from Cal U in spring 2015 with a Bachelor's in Sports Management. He also earned his Master's degree from Cal U in Sports Administration with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletics in Spring of 2016.
"I would like to thank Dr. Betty Young and Dr. Jarrod Tudor for the opportunity to lead the Hocking College Baseball Program. It is truly an honor to be selected and be a part of the Hocking community."
